Have you found it easy to adapt glasses into your personal style?
'Anything can work, as long as it is authentic.'
Who did you have in mind when you designed this collection?
'We tend to seek inspiration from within as opposed to outside forces.'
VR 16What was your main inspiration behind the collection?
'We designed our eyewear collection with the same approach as we do with all our creations. With our new collection, our personal notion towards the power of transformation remains a central motif. Something familiar is infused with the unexpected, with often a surrealistic approach.'
VR 12'We purposely curated various groups, a variety of sculptural glasses that are crafted to look as if the volume of the frames is pinched, and as if the framework is malleable. Under the theme of patchwork, the composition suggests that various models are intertwined with each other to create something new.
Lastly, the collection features a glamorous series of glasses where the wearer can choose to embellish their frames with crystal elements that are reminiscent of jewels. These frames can be worn with and without the embellishments.'
How many pairs of glasses do you own between you?
'We have around 20 pairs.'
What's your top style advice for selecting the best frames to suit?
'Do they make me look good?'
VR 06Who is your favourite person that you've dressed?
'Princess Mabel van Oranje Nassau for her wedding. She is an inspiration to us and a good friend.'
Has designing a glasses collection made you think differently when it comes to your design approach?
'We always work the same, we look for a logic to design. Often that comes from the desire to transform the everyday or familiar into something new and unexpected. The word transformation is key in our work.'
